Call to artists!
Do you have an artistic skill and the desire to teach others? Whether your passion is painting, writing, acting, drawing, or any other medium, we encourage you to apply to teach classes at the Lee Fowlkes Gallery in 2019. We are now scheduling classes Jan - June 2019 Tuesday through Friday 10 am - 2pm, and evening and weekend hours/dates available contingent on the gallery schedule.
If you are interested in sharing your talent and time with others by teaching an arts class, please submit your class proposal and application online or print out and deliver to the gallery at 43 W. Main St. or PO Box 689, Yanceyville, NC 27379. The submission deadline is November 30, 2018
Visit our gallery to enjoy "Paul Minnis: Through the Years", an exhibition of fine art spanning over 30 years in the artists life.
Paul Minnis is a lifetime professional artist whose work includes acrylics, oils, watercolors, and pottery. After earning a BS from Edinboro State University in PA and an MS from Pennsylvania State University, Minnis launched his teaching career at East Carolina university, where he later became Chair of the Ceramics Department after doing post graduate work at Rochester institute of Technology. He has had a long and successful career as a professional painter and potter in the Triangle area, with pieces at several museums. He is well known in Caswell County for his breathtaking watercolor paintings and prints of the Caswell County Courthouse.
Are you interested in learning more about the Caswell Council for the Arts, getting involved, sharing your ideas, or just meeting others with a shared interest in the arts? Please join us at the Lee Fowlkes Gallery at 43 W. Main St. on Wed. Nov. 28th from 10:30 - 11:30 for an informal member's meetup where we will enjoy a cup of tea and connect with you about the arts in Caswell County. All are invited to join us. You do not need to be a member to attend.
Please join us on Friday, November 30th from 5-9 p.m. for a Holiday Artisan Market featuring a variety of vendors displaying their handmade works to show and sell. The market will take place at the Caswell Council for the Arts' Lee Fowlkes Gallery at 43 W. Main St., Yanceyville.
This will be a great place to buy unique, one of a kind holiday gifts from local artists and crafters.
The evening will also include the holiday tree lighting and walking of the Winter Lights Trail in downtown Yanceyville.

Join us for the Youth Performance Series Production of The Velveteen Rabbit, a heartwarming tale of childhood and imagination, performed by Bright Stars Touring Theater. Based on the classic tale by Margery Williams Bianco, this show examines what it means to love and what it means to be real.
Individuals may purchase tickets online. School groups please call us at (336) 694-4474 to reserve space for your class. Payment by check is preferred for school groups.
The Caswell Council for the Arts private collection has been acquired through purchases and gifts from artists over the past forty years.
